Event Information
The 7th Annual Northwest Florida Volunteer Firefighter Weekend will be September 12-16, 2012. Online Registration for all classes begins on June 1, 2012. Online Registration will close on September 13 at 10 pm CST. Walk-in Registrations are welcomed during the Event but classes maybe limited.
Check-in, lunches, banquet and vendors will be located in the Public Safety Bldg. (Bldg H) of the NW Florida State College. All of our classes will start at 8 am CST and lunch on Saturday and Sunday will be served from 12 noon till 1 pm. New to this year - we will be raffling items during lunch from 12:30 pm till 12:45 pm. You must be present to win.
Participants will receive a T-shirt instead of the traditional baseball cap upon checking-in. On the registration form, please indicate your T-shirt size on the Registration Form so we know what size to order for you.

FFP 1740, Fire Service Course Delivery, 9/12- 9/16 (Location TBA)
Upon successful completion of this 40-hour course a Firefighter I, with six years of experience, will be able to test for Instructor I certification. This will allow him/her to teach the Firefighter I class in-house.
Emergency Medical Responder (First Responder) (Cost $75-$100) (Location TBA)
This course introduces the student to the skills and techniques used for first response to medical emergencies. Classroom instruction includes a variety of medical related topics encountered by public safety personnel. Practical exercises and scenarios are included to enhance classroom instruction and skill development.
FFP 2720, Company Officer, 9/12 - 9/16 (Location TBA)
This 40-hour course is designed to assist fire officers in solving the varied problems and situations they will be required to manage effectively in today's ever-changing fire service. The curriculum includes a review of fire department organization and administration, management theory, leadership, communication, motivation, and small group dynamics.
S-130, S-190, L-180, 9/12 - 9/16 (Classroom located at Holiday Inn Express) (For FF I Students Only)
This is a 40-hour course that is designed to train firefighters in the basic fire behavior factors that will aid them in the safe and effective control of wildland fires, basic wildland firefighting training, and the human factors on the fireline.
S-215 Wildland Operations in the Wildland-Urban Interface, 9/12 - 9/14 (Location TBA)
This course is designed to assist structure and wildland firefighters who will be making tactical decisions when confronting wildland fire that threatens life, property, and improvement, in the wildland/urban interface.

2nd Skills Sign Off for FF I Task Book, 9/13 - 9/14 (Classroom located at Burn Tower on Campus)
This course will allow the FF I student to complete the FF I Task Book for FF I Certificate of Completion. For FF I Students only and Scholarships Available. - Friday Evening
Demonstration Night, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Come and join us on Friday evening for some fun and demonstrations. Your sponsors will be available to answer your questions starting at 4 pm.
Our extrication vendors will conduct a "hands-on" vehicle extrication demonstrations from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. This demonstration will be located near the burn building. You will be able to try out all of the latest tools available for vehicle extrication. Personal Protective Equipment is required to participate in the demonstration.
Fire Ice will be demonstrating their product from 6 pm till 8 pm. This demonstration will be located near the burn building.
Our Silent Auction will begin Friday night at4 pm and end Sunday afternoon at 1pm. Check out our Silent Auction page for a list of items that are available.
Check-in will begin Friday evening at 4:00 pm in the Public Safety Bldg. (Bldg H). You will be able to pick up your class schedules at this time.

Banquet, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Come and join us for a FREE banquet along with door prizes. Our catered Banquet from Carrabba's Italian Grill will be held the Public Safety Bldg. (Bldg H) at the NW Florida State College. Your sponsors will be available to answer your questions. Come early to enjoy our opening ceremony complete with "Pipe & Drums", Posting of the Colors, and the National Anthem. You will want to be there!
Also during the banquet will be recognizing one attending volunteer firefighter who has gone above and beyond the call of duty during the past year. If you would like to nominate a firefighter, please have your fire chief email or fax a letter explaining what the incident was and why he or she deserves to to be recognized. The deadline for submission is September 1, 2012.
